Trying to Engage Your Students? How About an Avatar?
It's been a while because my focus has changed a bit. I won't be teaching EDU102 again for the foreseeable future and have now taken a new position as Instructional Technologist at JWU. I probably should start at new journal for the new job, but in the meantime I want to share one last thing.
Yesterday I spoke with Lori in our JWU library about enhancing their libguides for student engagement purposes. She had considered adding an avatar to help direct students and I suggested she look at Sitepal or Noah. She found that Sitepal was expensive but that they had a FREE version for educators called Voki http://www.voki.com/Voki_for_education.php ! I tried it out - what do you think, Lori? And thanks for the research!
