Icebreaking with Wordle
My latest Sloan C class finished up today. The course in Social Media Assessment was excellent as are all of the Sloan C courses that I have taken over the last few years. I came away with some great ideas for class activities including one where Wordle is used as an icebreaker activity. If you have been following my blog, you know that breaking the ice is very important to me as the foundation for establishing a sense of class community either online or in the classroom. If you don't currently have an icebreaker, I encourage you to spend the time as it will help students immensely. This is one of the student submissions for the class that was shared with me, you are welcome to adapt in any way: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fKh6vv0rXyrfR5YICdSI4wsJ6TRRfr4zVSw3IYpZGEE/edit
Anyway, since classes don't begin until January, I though I would try out Wordle now. At our Integrated Energy Advisory Board meeting, representatives from various local industries and government were asked to list the characteristics they expect from employees, the results are documented below. What do you think?
