You Don't Know What You Don't Know

This is the theme of our Lunch with Loretta & Lori sessions, casual, one hour demonstrations of various tools that can be used to engage students or make class management easier. We have done sesions on Google Docs, Image tools, video tools, and many web 2.0 tools including those in my previous posts here in this blog. Since I missed posting last month, I want to share two of the tools with you that were demonstrated by Lori and Amanda from our library.

First Lori showed us an alternative to PowerPoint that intrigued many of the session attendees, Prezi. This non-linear tool could be a change up to your usual lecture with those tired old PowerPoints or it can be used as a brainstorming tool for a collaborative class lesson. You might even give students the option of presenting their projects with the tool. Just go to prezi.com and watch the tutorials to get started.

Amanda created a library research Animoto video right before our eyes in about five minutes. It's a real video that she can use in her library instruction. Is this not awesome:

If you can upload images, you can make an Animoto.
