Successful Team Grant Writing Strategies

Educational technology can get very expensive so, also in August I attended a one day workshop which helped me to understand more about the ins and outs of grant writing. Our presenter  was filling in for the intended presenter, Dr. Beverly A. Browning (Dr. Bev) who is the Director of the Grant Writing Training Foundation (www.grantwritingbootcamp.us) and serves as the Vice President for Grants Professional Services at eCivis Inc. (www.ecivis.com).

Kicking off August: COLTT

So as I expected, August was super busy with preparing courses for fall and holding professional development events for faculty. In addition, I was lucky enough to attend my first ever Colorado Learning & Teaching with Technology Conference (COLTT) conference  at the University of Colorado - Boulder. This was a very busy conference in a beautiful venue, with a very low cost to boot. Some of the highlights of sessions I attended include the University of the Rockies study showing that students performed over 7% better on assignments in Quality Matters certified courses; an excellent refresher in using Adobe Photoshop led by Scott Trudeau, and playing a game led by some very courageous students and instructor David Thomas, where we participants learned just how hard it is to figure out how to work out an equitable college budget. If you are interested, here is a link to this year's event COLTT 2014.
