TAA Grant Sharing Meeting

In October, those of us working on the energy grant were invited to attend the TAA Grant Sharing Meeting at Aims Community College on the Front Range in Fort Lupton, Colorado (that's the Denver side whereas Colorado Mountain College is on the "Western Slope"). It's a beautiful campus with an awesome technology lab. Chris "Crispy" Ellis, CMC's solar guru and I presented on the development of the hybrid basic solar certificate courses and upcoming plans for the implementation of the mobile learning lab. We have the truck, now we just need the part that will benefit student learning by making it more accessible to them.

Principles of Computer Security Runs Again!

Great news! Niagara County Community College will be running my Principles of Computer Security course again in Spring 2014! This course, CIS205, is very special to me as you may remember, or if you weren't around back then, I created the online course from scratch a few years ago at the request of the CIS coordinator, Debbie Sorrentino
. She needed a 200 level course and I wanted to teach online for NCCC so it worked out well for all when the special topics course was run twice and accepted as curriculum. Students in this course have a chance to contribute to the Educause Information Security Video and Poster Contest.
